Separating an egg

The traditional method of separating the egg white from the yolk is to tip the egg from one half of the shell to the other until you are just left with the yolk, but this is pretty tricky for children to get the hang of. The easiest way I’ve found is to break the egg carefully into a bowl ensuring the yolk stays whole, and simply get them to scoop it out with their hands. Don’t use a spoon as it’s very easy to burst the yolk, a hand is much more gentle.
